Hungarian Crepes (Palacsinta) 🇭🇺

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water (or regular water)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sweet version)
  • 1 tbsp oil or melted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, water, salt, sugar, and oil.
  2. Gradually add flour, whisking until smooth and thin.
  3. Let batter rest for 15–20 minutes.
  4. Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat.
  5. Pour a small amount of batter and swirl to coat thinly.
  6. Cook 1–2 minutes, flip, and cook the other side briefly.
  7. Stack cooked crepes and keep covered.

Filling Ideas:

  • Apricot jam
  • Sweetened cocoa powder
  • Nutella or chocolate spread
  • Sweet cheese (túró)

Roll or fold and serve warm.
