🇭🇺 Hungarian Pancakes (Palacsinta)

🧾 Ingredients

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 ml milk
  • 250 ml sparkling water (or water)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and sparkling water.
  2. Add the flour, sugar, and salt, whisking until smooth.
  3. Stir in the oil or melted butter.
  4. Let the batter rest for 20–30 minutes.
  5. Heat a lightly greased non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  6. Pour a small amount of batter into the pan and swirl to coat the bottom thinly.
  7. Cook for 1–2 minutes until the edges begin to lift, then flip and cook for another 30 seconds.
  8. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  9. Fill with jam, sweetened cottage cheese, chocolate spread, or your favorite filling.
  10. Roll or fold and serve warm.
