
A classic Hungarian pastry made with soft yeast dough, sweet apricot jam, walnuts, and a rich chocolate topping.
Ingredients
Dough
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 250 g butter, softened
- 50 g sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast (7 g)
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 100 ml warm milk
- Pinch of salt
Filling
- 300 g apricot jam
- 250 g ground walnuts
- 150 g sugar
Chocolate Glaze
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 2 tbsp butter

Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar.
- Mix flour, butter, sugar, salt, egg, and egg yolk.
- Add yeast mixture and knead into a smooth dough.
- Divide dough into 3 equal parts and let rest for 30 minutes.
2. Assemble the Layers
- Roll out the first dough portion and place into a greased baking pan.
- Spread with apricot jam and sprinkle with walnuts mixed with sugar.
- Repeat with the second layer.
- Add the final dough layer on top.
3. Bake
- Prick the top with a fork.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35–40 minutes until lightly golden.
- Let cool completely.
4. Add Chocolate Glaze
- Melt chocolate with butter until smooth.
- Spread over the cooled cake.
- Allow glaze to set before slicing into squares.
