
Lecsó (Hungarian Pepper-Tomato Stew) 🇭🇺 – Don’t Lose This Recipe!
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp oil or lard
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3–4 bell peppers, sliced
- 4 ripe tomatoes, chopped (or 1 can)
- 1 tbsp Hungarian paprika
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1 smoked sausage (optional), sliced
- 2 eggs (optional)

Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan and cook onion until soft.
- Remove from heat, stir in paprika.
- Add garlic, peppers, and tomatoes.
- Return to heat, season with salt, pepper, and sugar.
- Add sausage if using.
- Simmer 20–25 minutes until vegetables are soft.
- Optional: crack eggs into the stew and cook until set.
Serve hot with fresh bread.
