Hungarian Lángos 🇭🇺 (Crispy Fried Flatbread)

Lángos is one of Hungary’s most famous street foods—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, and usually topped with garlic, sour cream, and cheese. It’s simple, cheap, and absolutely addictive.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet dry yeast (7 g)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250 ml warm milk or water
  • 2 tbsp oil or melted butter

For frying

  • Vegetable oil (enough for deep frying)

Classic toppings

  • 2–3 cloves garlic (crushed + mixed with a little water or oil)
  • Sour cream
  • Grated cheese (Edam or mozzarella)
  • Optional: salt
