Hungarian Fried Dough – Lángos 🇭🇺

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Oil for frying

Toppings

  • Garlic water or minced garlic
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil. Mix into a soft dough.
  3. Knead until smooth, cover, and let rise 1 hour.
  4. Divide dough into balls and flatten into rounds.
  5. Fry in hot oil until golden on both sides.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
