Hungarian Cottage Cheese Donuts (Túrófánk)

Ingredients:

  • 250 g cottage cheese (túró or farmer’s cheese)
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying

For serving:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Jam (apricot or strawberry)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until a thick batter forms.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  4. Using two spoons, drop small portions of batter into the hot oil.
  5. Fry until golden brown on both sides (about 2–3 minutes per side).
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
