
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk with a little sugar and let it activate for 10 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, salt, egg, egg yolk, butter, and yeast mixture. Knead into a smooth dough.
- Cover and let rise for about 1 hour.
- Prepare fillings: cook milk with sugar, then mix with poppy seeds or walnuts until thick. Let cool.
- Divide dough into two parts and roll each into a rectangle.
- Spread filling evenly and roll tightly into logs.
- Place on baking tray and let rest 20 minutes.
- Brush with egg yolk (optionally twice for shiny crust).
- Bake at 180°C for 30–40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool completely before slicing.
