Fasírt (Breaded Hungarian Hamburgers)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the mixture
    Squeeze excess milk from the soaked bread and place in a bowl with the ground meat.
  2. Add seasonings
    Mix in onion, garlic, egg, paprika, mustard, parsley, salt, and pepper. Combine thoroughly until well mixed.
  3. Shape the patties
    Form oval or round patties with slightly wet hands.
  4. Coat with breadcrumbs
    Roll each patty lightly in breadcrumbs for a crispy exterior.
  5. Fry
    Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the fasírt for about 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked inside.
  6. Serve
    Traditionally served with mashed potatoes, rice, pickles, or potato salad.
