- Wash, clean, and hull the strawberries.
- Mash them by hand (or use a potato masher).
- Add the sugar and mix well.
- Bring to a boil.
- From boiling point, cook for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Blend with a hand blender if you want a smooth texture.
- Continue cooking until it reaches a thick jam consistency.
- Pour into clean jars, close tightly, and let cool.
