
🧾 Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp oil or lard
- 2 large onions (sliced)
- 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
- 4–5 Hungarian wax peppers (or bell peppers, sliced)
- 2–3 ripe tomatoes (chopped) or 200 g canned tomatoes
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 smoked sausage (kolbász), sliced (optional)
- 1–2 eggs (optional, for serving)

👩🍳 Instructions:
- Cook onions:
Heat oil or lard in a large pan or pot. - Add onions and cook until soft and translucent.
- Add paprika:
Remove from heat and stir in paprika.
- Add vegetables:
Return to heat and add sliced peppers and tomatoes. - Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook stew:
Simmer uncovered for 25–30 minutes until peppers are soft and mixture thickens.
- Optional additions:
- Add sliced smoked sausage for a richer flavor
- Stir in eggs at the end for a rustic version (like a scramble)
