
🇭🇺 Delicious Hungarian Pasta with Cottage Cheese
Túrós Csusza
Ingredients
- 12 oz (350 g) wide egg noodles
- 10 oz (300 g) cottage cheese or farmer cheese, crumbled
- 4 oz (120 g) bacon, diced
- 2–3 tbsp bacon fat or butter
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Sour cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Cook noodles in well-salted water until al dente. Drain.
- In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and reserve fat.
- Add noodles to the skillet with bacon fat (or butter) and toss.
- Gently mix in cottage cheese.
- Season with salt and plenty of black pepper.
- Top with crispy bacon and serve hot, with sour cream if desired.
