- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Gruyère, or a mix)
- 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary (or 1 tbsp fresh herbs)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: ½ cup grated Parmesan for topping
- Fresh parsley for garnish
