🇭🇺 Meat Stuffed Pancakes (Hungarian Style – Hortobágyi Palacsinta)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Make the pancakes:

  1. Whisk flour, eggs, milk, sparkling water, salt, and oil into a smooth batter.
  2. Cook thin pancakes in a lightly greased pan. Set aside.

2. Prepare the filling:

  1. Sauté onion in oil until soft.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in paprika.
  3. Add chopped meat, tomato paste, broth, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook until thick and flavorful.

3. Fill the pancakes:

  1. Spoon filling onto each pancake.
  2. Roll or fold into parcels.

4. Make the sauce:

  1. Mix sour cream, flour, paprika, and broth.
  2. Heat gently until smooth and slightly thickened.

5. Finish:

  • Place filled pancakes in a baking dish
  • Pour sauce over
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes (optional)
