🇭🇺 Hungarian Lángos (Fried Flatbread)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Oil for frying

Toppings (classic):

  • Garlic (crushed or garlic water)
  • Sour cream
  • Grated cheese

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and oil. Mix into a soft dough.
  3. Knead for a few minutes, cover, and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan.
  5. Divide dough into balls and flatten into discs.
  6. Fry each piece until golden on both sides.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Rub with garlic, then top with sour cream and cheese.
