  1. Sauté the base
    • Heat oil or butter in a pot.
    • Add onion and cook until soft.
  2. Add vegetables
    • Add carrot and green peas.
    • Stir for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Season
    • Add garlic, sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix quickly (don’t burn paprika).
  4. Add liquid
    • Pour in broth.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
  5. Simmer
    • Cook for 10–15 minutes until peas are tender.
