Pogacsa (Hungarian Cheese Biscuits)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:
    Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  1. Make the dough:
    In a bowl, combine flour and salt.
  2. Add butter, sour cream, egg, grated cheese, and yeast mixture.
  3. Knead into a soft, slightly sticky dough.

  1. Rest:
    Cover and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled.

  1. Shape:
    Roll out dough to about 2 cm thick.
  2. Score the top in a crisscross pattern.
  3. Cut out small rounds using a cutter or glass.

Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with extra cheese.

Prepare for baking:
Place on a lined baking tray.
