Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. Mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tsp sugar. Let it foam for 10 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, vanilla.
  3. Add egg, melted butter, and yeast mixture.
  4. Knead until smooth and elastic (8–10 minutes).
  5. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

2. Shape the chimney rolls

  1. Roll dough into thin strips (about 2 cm wide).
  2. Wrap strips around your mold, slightly overlapping.
  3. Roll gently to seal the edges.

3. Coat with butter & sugar

  1. Brush dough generously with melted butter.
  2. Roll or sprinkle with sugar (or cinnamon sugar mix).

4. Bake in oven

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Place mold on a rack or baking tray (so air can circulate)
  • Bake 15–20 minutes, turning halfway for even caramelization
  • Bake until golden and crispy

5. Finish

  • While still warm, brush again lightly with butter
  • Roll in sugar or toppings if desired
