
Hungarian TĂşrĂł Rudi (Homemade) đź‡đź‡ş
Ingredients (8–10 bars)
Filling:
- 500 g (2 cups) dry cottage cheese (Hungarian tĂşrĂł preferred)
- 3–4 tbsp powdered sugar (to taste)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla sugar
- Zest of ½ lemon
Chocolate coating:
- 200 g (7 oz) dark chocolate
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter
Instructions
- Prepare filling:
Blend or mash cottage cheese until smooth (traditional texture is creamy, not chunky).
Mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest. - Shape:
Divide mixture and form into small bars (about finger-sized).
Place on a parchment-lined tray. - Freeze:
Freeze 30–60 minutes until firm. - Melt chocolate:
Melt chocolate with coconut oil over a double boiler or microwave (gentle heat). - Coat:
Dip frozen bars into melted chocolate, fully covering.
Return to parchment paper. - Set:
Refrigerate until chocolate hardens (about 15–20 minutes).
