Hungarian Pörkölt with Nokedli – Don’t Lose This Recipe!

Ingredients:

Pörkölt:

  • 1 kg meat (pork, beef, or chicken)
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2–3 tbsp oil or lard
  • 2 tbsp sweet paprika
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2–3 cloves garlic
  • 1 green pepper (optional)
  • 1 tomato (optional)
  • 500–800 ml water or broth

Nokedli:

  • 300 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 ml water
  • Salt

Instructions:

  1. Cook onions in oil until soft and golden.
  2. Remove from heat, add paprika, stir quickly.
  3. Add meat and brown lightly.
  4. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and optional vegetables.
  5. Pour in water or broth and simmer until meat is tender and sauce thickens.

Nokedli:

  1. Mix flour, eggs, water, and salt into a thick batter.
  2. Drop small pieces into boiling salted water.
  3. Cook until they float, then drain.

Serve hot pörkölt over nokedli.
