1. Prepare the Meatballs
- In a bowl, mix ground meat, rice, onion, egg, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Form small meatballs and set aside.
2. Start the Paprikash
- Heat oil or butter in a large pot.
- Sauté onion until soft.
- Add garlic and cook briefly.
- Remove from heat and stir in paprika.
3. Cook the Chicken and Meatballs
- Add chicken pieces and coat well with the paprika mixture.
- Return to heat, add tomato, bell pepper, and broth.
- Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add meatballs carefully into the pot.
- Cover and cook for 35–40 minutes until chicken is tender and meatballs are cooked through.
4. Make the Sauce
- Mix sour cream with flour until smooth.
- Add a little hot liquid to temper it.
- Stir into the pot and cook gently until sauce thickens.
- Season with salt and pepper.
5. Serve
- Serve hot with dumplings, egg noodles, or bread.
