- Sauté base:
Heat butter or oil in a pot and cook onion until soft. - Add diced carrot and cook for a few minutes.
- Add peas:
Stir in green peas and cook briefly. - Remove from heat and add paprika.
- Make soup:
Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well. - Pour in broth or water, mixing to avoid lumps.
- Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
- Simmer:
Cook for 15–20 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Optional dumplings:
Mix egg, flour, and salt into a soft dough. - Drop small pieces into the simmering soup and cook until they float.
- Finish with fresh parsley.
