  1. Sauté base:
    Heat butter or oil in a pot and cook onion until soft.
  2. Add diced carrot and cook for a few minutes.

    Stir in green peas and cook briefly.
  2. Remove from heat and add paprika.

  1. Make soup:
    Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir well.
  2. Pour in broth or water, mixing to avoid lumps.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.

  1. Simmer:
    Cook for 15–20 minutes until vegetables are tender.

  1. Optional dumplings:
    Mix egg, flour, and salt into a soft dough.
  2. Drop small pieces into the simmering soup and cook until they float.
