
Ingredients:
- 200 g ground hazelnuts
- 5 eggs, separated
- 120 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (optional, for richer flavor)
- Pinch of salt
- Butter (for greasing pan)
Optional topping:
- Powdered sugar
- Melted chocolate or chocolate glaze
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line a cake pan.
- Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, mix egg yolks with vanilla.
- Fold yolk mixture into egg whites gently.
- Add ground hazelnuts (and cocoa if using) and fold carefully until combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until set and lightly golden.
- Let cool completely before removing from pan.
