- Activate yeast:
Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. - Make the dough:
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Knead until you get a smooth, soft dough. - Let it rise:
Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the crescents:
Divide the dough into 2–3 portions. Roll each into a circle, then cut into triangles (like pizza slices). - Roll each triangle from the wide end to the tip to form crescent shapes.
- Second rise:
Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rest for 20–30 minutes. - Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with seeds if desired.
