
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (75 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups (300 g) sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup (240 ml) milk
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240 ml) hot coffee or hot water
Chocolate Frosting:
- 7 oz (200 g) dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup (115 g) butter
- 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line two 8-inch (20 cm) cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in hot coffee (batter will be thin).
- Divide into pans and bake 30–35 minutes. Cool completely.
- Melt chocolate and butter together. Cool slightly.
- Beat in powdered sugar and milk until smooth and spreadable.
- Fill and frost the cake. Let set before slicing.
