Hungarian Chilled Cherry Soup (Meggyleves)

nstructions:

  1. Add cherries, water, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves to a pot.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 10–15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix sour cream and flour until smooth.
  4. Slowly add a little hot soup to the sour cream mixture while stirring.
  5. Pour mixture back into the soup and cook gently for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add vanilla and lemon juice.
  7. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for several hours.
  8. Serve well chilled.
