Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, salt, and flour. Mix into a soft dough.
  3. Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Divide dough into 3 equal pieces and roll into long ropes.
  6. Braid the ropes and place on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Brush with egg wash.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
