
Ingredients:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 7 g dry yeast
- 250 ml warm milk
- 60 g sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 60 g butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Coating:
- 100 g sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- Melted butter for brushing
Instructions:
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a little sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Add yeast mixture, egg yolks, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough out and cut into long strips.
- Wrap strips around greased chimney molds or a rolling pin.
- Brush with melted butter and roll in sugar (and cinnamon if using).
- Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 15–20 minutes, turning until golden and caramelized.
- Remove carefully and roll again in sugar while warm.
