Instructions

  1. Cook onions
    Heat oil in a large pot and cook onions until soft and golden.
  2. Add paprika & beef
    Remove briefly from heat, stir in paprika, then add beef and garlic. Cook until browned.
  3. Add vegetables
    Stir in carrots, potatoes, tomato, and bell pepper.
  4. Simmer
    Pour in broth, season with salt and pepper, cover, and simmer 1½–2 hours until beef is tender.
  5. Serve
    Serve hot with crusty bread or Hungarian dumplings.
