Soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet — this milk bread stays tender for days and is perfect for sandwiches, toast, or just warm with butter.


🛒 Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp butter (softened) or oil
  • 1 egg (optional, for extra softness)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, water, sugar, and yeast. Rest 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add butter (or oil), salt, and egg (if using).
  3. Gradually add flour and knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
  4. Cover and let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Punch down dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased pan.
  6. Let rise again 30–40 minutes.
  7. Brush top with milk for a soft crust.
  8. Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
