- Cook the pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook fettuccine according to package directions until al dente.
- Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Make the sauce
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add Parmesan
- Reduce heat to low.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- If sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- Combine
- Add drained fettuccine to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve
- Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan on top.
- Serve immediately while hot and creamy. 😋
