Cottage Cheese Noodles (Túrós Csusza)

Ingredients

  • 400 g broad egg noodles (csusza or lasagna broken into pieces)
  • 250 g cottage cheese (or Hungarian túró)
  • 150 g smoked bacon, diced
  • 200 ml sour cream
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles in salted boiling water until tender; drain.
  2. Fry bacon until crispy; reserve fat.
  3. Toss hot noodles with bacon fat.
  4. Add cottage cheese and mix gently.
  5. Serve topped with bacon pieces and sour cream.
