Ingredients:

  • 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 100 ml sour cream (optional, for creamy version)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel the cucumbers (leave some strips of skin for texture if you like).
  2. Slice them very thinly using a knife or mandoline.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and let sit for 15–20 minutes to release excess water.
  4. Gently squeeze out the extra liquid.
  5. In a bowl, mix vinegar, sugar, garlic, and black pepper.
  6. Add cucumbers and onion, tossing well to coat.
  7. For the creamy version, stir in sour cream.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh dill if desired.
  9. Chill for 20–30 minutes before serving.
