Nokedli (Galuska) – Hungarian Dumplings

Ingredients:

  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 150–180 ml water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
  2. Add the eggs and gradually stir in the water until a thick, sticky batter forms.
  3. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  5. Using a nokedli maker, spaetzle maker, or a spoon, drop small portions of batter into the boiling water.
  6. Cook for 2–4 minutes, until the dumplings float to the surface.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain well.
  8. Toss with melted butter or a little oil to prevent sticking.
