Hungarian Meatballs (Fasírt)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g ground pork, beef, or a mixture
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp sweet Hungarian paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the milk and mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs or oval patties.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry the meatballs for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
