
Ingredients
For the Dough:
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 200 g unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 2–3 tbsp sour cream
For the Apple Filling:
- 1 kg apples, peeled and grated
- 100 g sugar
- 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
For Serving:
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg and sour cream, then knead into a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix the grated apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Roll out one portion of dough and place it in a greased baking pan.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the dough.
- Spread the apple filling over the breadcrumbs.
- Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the filling.
- Seal the edges and prick the top with a fork.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
