
🧾 Ingredients
Meatballs:
- 500 g ground beef (or beef + pork mix)
- 1 small onion (finely grated or chopped)
- 1 egg
- 80 g rice (uncooked)
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
Tomato sauce:
- 500 ml tomato passata (or crushed tomatoes)
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1–2 tsp sugar
- Salt & pepper
- 500 ml water or broth
👩🍳 Instructions
- Mix meat, onion, egg, rice, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic.
- Shape into small meatballs.
- Heat oil in a pot and sauté onion.
- Add paprika, then tomato passata and water/broth.
- Season with sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Carefully add meatballs into the sauce.
- Simmer covered for 35–45 minutes, until rice is cooked and meatballs are tender.
- Stir gently and serve hot, usually with bread or mashed potatoes.
