Hungarian Lecsó (Pepper-Tomato Stew) – Don’t Lose This Recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 3–4 large onions
  • 3–4 green peppers (or mixed peppers)
  • 3–4 ripe tomatoes
  • 2–3 tbsp oil or lard
  • 1–2 tsp sweet paprika
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Optional: smoked sausage or bacon

Instructions:

  1. Slice onions and sauté in oil until soft.
  2. Remove from heat, add paprika, and stir quickly.
  3. Add sliced peppers and cook until slightly soft.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Simmer until everything becomes soft and saucy.
  6. Optional: add sliced sausage or bacon for extra flavor.
  7. Cook until fully combined and serve hot with bread or rice.
