
🇭🇺 Classic Hungarian Cucumber Salad (Uborkasaláta)
🧾 Ingredients:
- 2 large cucumbers (thinly sliced)
- 1 small onion (thinly sliced, optional)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2–3 tbsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Hungarian sweet paprika (optional)
- 100 ml sour cream (optional, for creamy version)

👩🍳 Instructions:
- Prepare cucumbers:
Sprinkle sliced cucumbers with salt and let sit for 10–15 minutes. - Gently squeeze out excess liquid.
- Make dressing:
In a bowl, mix vinegar, water, sugar, garlic, pepper, and paprika (if using).
- Combine:
Add cucumbers and onion to the dressing and mix well.
- Optional creamy version:
Stir in sour cream for a richer salad.
Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
