Hungarian Noodle Dumplings (Nokedli / Galuska)

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 300 g (2½ cups) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 150–200 ml (⅔–¾ cup) water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add eggs and water, stir into a thick, sticky batter.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  3. Using a spoon or dumpling maker, drop small portions of dough into the boiling water.
  4. Cook until dumplings float to the surface (2–3 minutes).
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
  6. Optional: toss with a little butter or oil to prevent sticking
