Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 1 liter (4 cups) water or broth
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp flour (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: caraway seeds, parsley
