Vanilla Kifli Cookies (Vaníliás Kifli)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts (or almonds)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Coating:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tsp vanilla sugar (or extra vanilla extract)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, butter, ground nuts, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt into a soft dough.
  2. Wrap and chill for 30–60 minutes.
  3. Shape dough into small crescent (kifli) shapes.
  4. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. While still warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
  7. Cool completely before serving.
