
Hungarian Bean Goulash (Babgulyás) 🇭🇺
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or lard
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- ½ lb (225 g) beef chuck, cut into small cubes
- 1 smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 tomato, chopped (or ½ cup canned diced tomatoes)
- 1 small bell pepper, chopped
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1½ cups dried beans (soaked overnight) or 1 can beans, drained
- 5 cups beef broth or water
- 1 tsp caraway seeds (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
