Hungarian Cherry Muffins (Cseresznyés Muffin) 🇭🇺

Ingredients (12 muffins)

  • 200 g (1½ cups) all-purpose flour
  • 120 g (½ cup) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 ml (½ cup) milk
  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 200 g (1 cup) pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the cherries.
  6. Fill muffin cups about ¾ full.
  7. Bake 18–22 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
