🥢 Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

Tender strips of beef stir-fried with crisp bell peppers and onions in a savory soy-based sauce. Quick, flavorful, and perfect over steamed rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. In a bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef quickly (2–3 minutes) until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add remaining oil. Stir-fry garlic, onions, and bell peppers for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Return beef to the pan. Pour in sauce mixture and stir well.
  6. Cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats everything.
  7. Sprinkle with black pepper and serve hot.
