
Tender strips of beef stir-fried with crisp bell peppers and onions in a savory soy-based sauce. Quick, flavorful, and perfect over steamed rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- In a bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let marinate 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef quickly (2–3 minutes) until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Add remaining oil. Stir-fry garlic, onions, and bell peppers for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
- Return beef to the pan. Pour in sauce mixture and stir well.
- Cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats everything.
- Sprinkle with black pepper and serve hot.
