🫓 Lángos (Hungarian Fried Flatbread)

Ingredients:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 7 g dry yeast (or 25 g fresh yeast)
  • 300 ml warm water or milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water or milk. Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add yeast mixture and oil, then mix into a soft dough.
  4. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  6. Divide dough into balls and flatten into thin rounds.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan.
  8. Fry each piece until golden brown on both sides.
  9. Drain on paper towels.
