1. Make the Cake
- Preheat oven to 175Β°C / 350Β°F.
- Grease and line an 8-inch (20cm) round or square pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugars, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Pour in the hot water/coffee and mix β the batter will be thin (this makes it moist!).
- Pour into the pan and bake 30β35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool completely.
2. Make the Frosting
- Beat butter until creamy.
- Add cocoa powder and powdered sugar alternately with milk.
- Mix until smooth and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and beat again.
- Spread over cooled cake.
