📝 Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups pitted sour cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2–3 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Optional Topping:

  • Powdered sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add butter and eggs, knead into a smooth dough.
  4. Press half of the dough into a greased baking pan.
  5. Mix cherries with sugar and cornstarch, then spread evenly over the dough.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough on top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden.
  8. Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
