🇭🇺 Gerbeaud Slice (Hungarian Zserbó)


👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast:
    Mix yeast with lukewarm milk and a little sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the dough:
    In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter, egg yolks, and yeast mixture. Knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.

  1. Assemble layers:
    Roll out the first portion and place it in a greased baking pan.
  2. Spread half of the apricot jam, then sprinkle with half of the walnut and sugar mixture.
  3. Add the second dough layer, repeat the filling.
  4. Place the final dough layer on top.

  1. Rest:
    Let the assembled cake rest for about 30–40 minutes.
  2. Prick the top with a fork.
